Hello everyone! Yesterday I had the opportunity to go to Connecting Things Louisville's first event with Mo McKnight Howe (@momcknighthowe) who is the owner of Revelry Boutique Gallery (@revelryboutiquegallery) as the guest speaker. Also as a nice treat, ate some cookies from Please & Thank You - if you haven't tried their amazing cookies yet, make sure to. As I've said, I intend to try and attend more local events now that I'm no longer working as much (or as hard) but lately I've given it a shot going to new events alone. It helps knowing people once you get there, but it gives you that opportunity to meet people for the first time and connect with people once you're out of that comfort zone. Live and learn, darlings.
Mo's speech about her resilience as a local business-owner and how the biggest thing is your support system and ambition to do things was inspirational and great to witness. Her final words stuck though, "You make the life you want." It's true, if you have an ambition, it's up to you to pursue it and do what you want.
I'm glad to end off the post with stating how getting out of your comfort zone and getting involved with the community leads to better things. I got to meet Josh (@thekentuckygent), Miranda (@thechicstreet), and Nicole (@bluebirdthetruebird) who are also fellow local bloggers and I'm super duper excited to see them around more! Check their fantastic blogs out for a read, I'm sure you won't regret it. It's nice to finally relate with people around here about what I do and what I enjoy. Also super nice to meet people who know what it's like to not to touch their food before we can get a perfect picture before we eat.
Congratulations for Connecting Things Louisville (@connectingthingslou) for your first event!
